Kiddo's Quotables

My friend Tara came across this super cute Free Printable.  Amy at Delightful Distractions designed this little book for keeping track of all those cute little things your kiddo's say.  I know... you're thinking, "Kelly, your kiddo is only 4 months old".  Well , I better start getting ready now, by the time he starts talking it will be too late!  Amy gives several ideas on how to use her printable.  I plan to follow her lead but also plan to scan them once they're filled in and use them in my digital scrap book.  Head on over to Delightful Distractions to check it out & let her know what you think!

Look ahead to next week...
I will be doing an entire week of T-Shirt makeovers.  Wait until you see what I've come up with.  Super cute, easy, and virtually free.  You'll be so excited to give them a try!!  Come check it out and let me know what you think!

Is it a bag? Is it a play mat?

I've been on the hunt for a new diaper bag lately.  I have not been pleased with the one I have.  It's just way too deep and doesn't have enough pockets for me to find what I need.  So yesterday I decided to check out Etsy.  I figured there must be other mom's out there that couldn't find what they needed and finally broke down to make their own.  Not sure that I found exactly what I wanted but I did find this!  It's a bag and a play mat, could be a changing pad too.  I think it is super cute and a fantastic idea.  Check out Snug as a Bug Baby Etsy site!!!

Sweater "Remodel"

Well, It's officially Fall has arrived.  Ready or not, for me it's a not but I better start getting used to the idea if I don't want to freeze.  With this in mind I have found the most amazing crafty idea for turning blah into spectacular!  Oh how I wish I could sew.  It's not often I say this as I'm just a crafter.  I'm not too interested in making my own clothes but I've had my times.  Thankfully I have a wonderful mom who is always interested in helping with my sewing projects.  Which leads me to this...

and after a few simple changeroos you get this...

That's right...did you see it...magic!!!  I have never seen something so dull become something so charming.  Now, if I can just try it myself.  Check out the Grosgrain blog for the simple how to's, as well as an entire month of Embellishing your Knits.  That's right she has an idea of how to change up drab sweaters for every day of the month.  It's a must see!!  Enjoy!!

"Leafing" your mark

My friend Allison Dooley Wyatt was recently married.  She had this fantastically creative "guestbook" at her beautiful wedding.  I love, love, love it!!!  Not to mention she looked absolutely stunning at the wedding!  Unfortunately, we we not able to attend but I thoroughly enjoyed all her beautiful pictures!

Secret Millionaires Club

The Secret Millionaires Club by Warren Buffett on AOL is a great learning tool for how our economy works.  They have short cartoons that easily explain some complex financial topics and even a pretend stock market where kids can invest and watch their wealth grow (or shrink).  The Secret Millionaires Club even has programs for teachers to use in their classroom for financial literacy, entrepreneurship & core math skills.  I give it two thumbs up!!!

Shammie Flower Brooch

I have been so anxious to try out this Shammy Flower Brooch from Dollar Store Crafts.  It was incredibly easy and turned out super cute.  It is a beautiful fall color so it will be perfect to wear in the coming months, just be careful not to wear it when it's raining. Ha, ha, ha!!!

Bird's Nest Decor

I found this fabulous Free Printable at Tip Junkie.  I have always liked the idea of a nest, a place where you feel welcome, warm and fed!!  I decided to print it on paper that has a bit of shine to it.  I want it to have a more transitional look rather than a country farm house look...the paper makes all the difference as you could make it go either way.  I finished it off with a black frame and placed it in our dining room near the entry.  Likey, likey!
